As mentioned earlier, I watched The Lovely Bones this past Monday. I wasn't particularly blown away by Peter Jackson's adaptation, although it did make me want to revisit the book (which I obviously deeply loved). However, I will say that Susan Sarandon was looking rather fabulous as the chain-smoking, alcoholic Grandma Lynn, with her big hair, fur coats, winged eye-liner, and no-nonsense attitude. I think she was my favourite part of the whole film.

oh my goodness...I just re-read the book (in preparation for the movie) and wish I had known I could have been picturing Susan Sarandon in this role the whole time. I'm thinking it would be something reminiscent of her stint on Friends as Joey's dramatic Days of our Lives co-star
