we are handsome

Although it's getting far too cold to be thinking about swimwear (and I've been eating far too many cocoa chums), I can't resist posting about these amazing handmade swimsuits from Australian company We Are Handsome, which I came across via my friend Amy's Facebook page a few weeks ago. I desperately want that galloping black stallion one piece for the upcoming Thailand trip.

how fantastic

Wes Anderson and Angus Hyland have put together what is sure to be a wonderfully whimsical addition to any coffee table with their new book, The Making of Fantastic Mr. Fox. It includes: Wes Anderson’s drawings, along with his annotated scripts; pictures of props, sets and puppets; the Chaffin illustrations; stills from the film; concept designs and character development drawings; material swatches for costumes; and technical drawings and interviews with Wes and Eric Anderson, Jason Schwartzman and Liccy Dahl (Pentagram). Amazing.

in paris, everything looks like dessert...

I really, really want to go to Paris and this delightful little slide show of pretty Parisian treats isn't helping!

Really?

Okay so I'll admit it, I do kind of love Lauren Conrad and yes The Hills hasn't been the same without her but really LC...you're going to publish a Style Guide? If the book is anything like her clothing line it's sure to be bland and overpriced.

T.O. topshop

Growing up in England I can vividly remember saving up my pocket money for weeks at a time only to blow it in a matter of minutes on super trendy pieces from my favourite multi-floored fashion mecca on Oxford St. So, needless to say, I've been experiencing some serious heart palpitations ever since I discovered (thanks @FashionCanada) that topshop might finally be coming to Canada next spring. Although, lets not get too excited, these are only whispers at this point and unfortunately the Brit mega-brand won't be opening up a full sized store (there goes my vision for the soon to be vacated Urban Planet space on Queen St. W.) but rather, a pop-up boutique at The Bay's new high fashion environ - The Room.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see whether this fashion fantasy becomes a reality, but the anticipation of Christopher Kane five minutes from my office has put me in a Friday frenzy.

You were reading Catch-22 on the subway this morning. I have never seen such a beautiful profile. I wanted to say hi, but then you’d turn towards me and I wouldn’t be able to look at your profile anymore. You were so into your book, I don’t think you noticed me falling in love with you. But I thought I’d ask, just in case.

We shared a bear suit at an apartment party on Saturday night.
I asked for your number and you gave it to me, but somehow I don't have an area code written down. I had a great time talking with you, and I don't trust Chance enough to wait until I see you in the elevators...

My friend Erin sent me a link to a lovely blog today - its full of whimsical drawings by Brooklyn artist Sophie Blackwell, which illustrate some of Craigslist's finer Missed Connections. I really like how Sophie describes her work: Messages in bottles, smoke signals, letters written in the sand; the modern equivalents are the funny, sad, beautiful, hopeful, hopeless, poetic posts on Missed Connections websites. Every day hundreds of strangers reach out to other strangers on the strength of a glance, a smile or a blue hat. Their messages have the lifespan of a butterfly. I'm trying to pin a few of them down." Oh, how I just love this.

Holiday Wish List

My mother has been bugging me for weeks now to send her a Christmas list. Instead, I've decided to create an elaborate wish list to share with all of you. So, in no particular order, all I want for Christmas is...

A Parisian Aparment (although i'd settle for something in the Candy Factory Lofts)

Stylish winter accessories

Louboutin booties

An unlimited Starbucks card

Bright eyes
The dream bag

A signature scent

Colourful and scrumptious treats

A sparkly New Years Eve outfit

bakerby

Cecilie is 18, lives in Copenhagen, works at A.P.C., and her beautiful blog, Bakerby, is so lovely. It's full of pretty inspirations, lots of delicious looking food, and tons of clothes/purses/shoes that I wish were in my own wardrobe.
