It's been fifteen years since a very fresh faced Winona Ryder (indie darling and Katie's girl crush of the moment) made overalls look sexy when she graced the cover of Rolling Stone. We've come a long way since the glory days of these strappy denim onsies...an easy ensemble piece that often made reoccurring appearances on Blossom and Full House - not to mention my ever-so-chic corduroy version in a relatively horrific grade five class photo. There's no doubt about it, the look was certainly a fashion staple of the 1990s. And so, as we exhaust the garish rehashing of the eighties it looks like we can look forward to some serious recycling of our beloved grade school fashion trends. We already know about clogs (here and here) and now it looks like we can add overalls to the list of nostalgic must haves for next season. I don't think I'll be indulging in said style choices (I can't imagine these are the most figure flattering /work appropriate options for the warmer months) but if Vogue's style blog is into it then I'm we're bound to see plenty of hip young things pulling off a chic take on this classic farmers uniform.

We used to decorate ours with flowers, peace sign, and patches of all sorts. Nice to see that this staple of "comfort clothing" gets recycled every 10 - 20 years! I won't be indulging this time around tho, but the Ralph version is oh so cute!!
