Chanel goes Country

Just when I’m starting to get excited about my Fall wardrobe Karl Lagerfeld goes and makes me crazy for Springtime couture. The fan-wielding genius behind Chanel has bested himself with his Spring/Summer 2010 collection that debuted a couple days ago at Paris Fashion Week. Dressed in country-bumpkin chic ensembles, fresh-faced models pranced along a straw scattered runway...stopping occasionally to indulge in a (very literal) roll in the hay. Lagerfeld’s bold barnyard set, erected inside the Grand Palais, didn’t overshadow his covetable designs but rather, allowed this playful collection to come to life.

It takes a lot to make this city mouse yearn for anything country but the brilliance of Chanel knows no boundaries. Models wore peasant style pieces ranging from platform clogs (somehow it works), straw-coloured suits, embroidered basket style bags, and of course plenty of tweed. It's barely Thanksgiving but these designs have me yearning for Spring time in the country.

  1. I loved the idea of having a roll in the hay at a fashion show. Who other than Karl Lagerfeld?

ps. that neclace is devine and would definitely not apply in kelly's dressing rules!
